Have you ever thought about being from another realm? Can you relate to your favorite SyFy movie? Maybe you can relate to an interesting character. Have you ever imagined yourself as that character, especially after you have watched a show?
Do you know that as a Child of God you are considered to be of another realm? You are. Hebrews 12:23 tells us, “We are members of the church of the Firstborn for all of our names have been legally registered as citizens of heaven.”
We belong to heaven, the kingdom of God. Take a moment to think about this.
What questions stirred in your mind?
As citizens of heaven, we have benefits. No different than the benefits one receives from citizenship. As American citizens, we have many rights and freedoms. These protected by our Constitution and other amazing documents. So it is with God’s Kingdom, you have rights and benefits. They are yours and are backed up by the very word of God! Even though we have not entered into heaven, we have so much more than most realize.
Look at how Jesus showed us how to pray:
‘Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn.
Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven.
We acknowledge you as our Provider of all we need each day.
Forgive us the wrongs we have done as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us.
Rescue us every time we face tribulation and set us free from evil.
For you are the King who rules with power and glory forever. Amen.’
Jesus’ prayer for us was to keep our eyes on our New Kingdom. To stay focused on The Lord and His power, love, and promises. For everything we will ever need here on earth will come from God’s heavenly realm. Especially, the power and authority we need to accomplish the Lord’s will for our lives. We are the ones to release his power on the earth.
Remember, God is a good Father. He loves his creation like no other; there is no one above God. He has set up his children for success. With many tools and weapons at our disposal, we must learn them and use them daily. These tools are from another realm.
Read Matthew 10:7. Jesus told the disciples he was sending out, “Heaven’s Kingdom realm is accessible, close enough to touch. You must continually bring healing to lepers and to those who are sick and make it your habit to break off demonic presence from people, and raise the dead back to life. Freely you have received the power of the kingdom, so freely release it to others.”
You have received the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit that raised Jesus back to life. God living inside of you. When you pray in Jesus’ name and release life, the power of God is released within you and flows out of you to do the work God, our Father, wants to be accomplished.
Jesus said in Matthew 16:19, ” I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.”
You have a set of keys! It is our choice to use them or not. It is our voice that activates them. As a child of God, you are qualified to use these keys, for you are of the heavenly realm with authority from God to activate each one.
Jesus is the living vine. In John 15:1-17, Jesus expounds on the importance of the vine. Jesus is all we need. We need the word to thrive and to know who we are and what we have. In verse 7, Jesus says, ‘but if you live in life-union with me and my words live powerfully within you, then you can ask what-ever you desire and it will be done. When your lives bear abundant fruit, you demonstrate that you are my mature disciples who glorify God.’
Cling to the living word of God. It is our life. For children of the Kingdom of God, don’t live by bread alone, but every word that comes from God.
You are not of this earth. The Lord reminds us that we are in the world but not of this world. Part of Jesus’ prayer to his Father for us says, ‘I have given them your message and that is why the unbelieving world hates them. For their allegiance is no longer to this world because I am not of this world. I am not asking that you remove them from the world, but I ask that you guard their hearts from evil, for they no longer belong to this world any more than I do.’ John 17:14-16
Jesus gave us his precious gift, the Holy Spirit. We have the living God within us. I often think of our Old Covenant family, they lived without the intimate companionship of the Holy Spirit. Yet, their faith and belief in a living God were enough to see God’s promises come to life. Hebrews 11 is a rich chapter of Old Covenant brothers and sisters who provided real-life testimonies of God’s mountain-moving power and faithfulness.
Look at what Hebrews 11:13 tells us, ‘These heroes all died still clinging to their faith, not even receiving all that had been promised them. But they saw beyond the horizon the fulfillment of the promises and gladly embraced it from afar. They lived their lives on earth as those who belonged to another realm. For those living this way are longing for the appearing of a heavenly city.’
Look at what their faith accomplished in the Old Covenant:
-conquered kingdoms
-established justice
-pulled promises into reality
-shut the mouths of lions
-put out the power of raging fires
-caused many to escape the sword
-gave the weak strength
-gave the courage to be mighty warriors pulling in army’s from another realm (heaven)
-raised children from the dead
Others had the faith to cling to the Lord and truth even though they faced great atrocities and suffering. Truly, the world was not even worthy of them, not realizing who they were. They were God’s children.
I encourage you to read Hebrews 11 in full. It is so encouraging. They all were holding onto the hope of seeing the Messiah, Jesus Christ appear on earth.
We have the opportunity to live in something better, a better covenant. Hebrews 11 in The Passion Translation writes it as faith’s fullness. If our Old Covenant family saw mighty signs and wonders, how much more are we expecting to see? For we are of the Kingdom of God, each one of us with a purpose given by God for our lives. Let us not waste the precious gifts and time the Lord has given us in these seasons. For we are of another realm, the Kingdom of God.
