Say no! Do you stand your ground for what is rightfully yours?
It was a few months ago, my husband’s car was totaled. After having to come to a complete stop safely on the interstate, he was rear-ended twice within seconds at higher speeds. We are praising God for his protection for he walked away with zero injuries! God’s promise of protection is real. The insurance company offered a low settlement value to the car, we disagreed, and choose to fight for a more realistic settlement. After many calls and quite a bit of time, we were able to agree to an amount within our acceptable range.
Most of us tend to fight for the things that rightfully belong to us such as health benefits, employee benefits, warranties on products, our rights as citizens of our country, and the list goes on. I am sure we all have a few stories where we have had to make a stand.
Do we fight for what our heavenly rights and promises are as His Kids?
In Ephesians 6, we are instructed to daily put on the armor of God. The belt of truth, a breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, and the list continues. Isn’t this a picture of a soldier? Soldiers are trained for warfare. They are there to protect what belongs to a nation and fight to protect from any enemies.
Jesus says in Matthew 11 that the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing since John the Baptist, and forceful passionate men lay hold of heaven’s power. Sounds like these men and women are standing their ground with vigor and passion going after what they know to be theirs.
2 Corinthians 10:4 lets us know as God’s children the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
Timothy tells us to fight the good fight of faith.
In our interpretation of these instructions, it is easy to think we must do this in our own strength however this is not what God is relaying. NO! We are nothing without the power of God. What makes us powerful is the Holy Spirit! Yes, he is alive and well. He is a gift to each of us who make Jesus Lord while we wait for Christ’s return. When we team up with him, mountains move, circumstances change, hope becomes a reality, and life is never the same again.
Above 2 Corinthians said the weapons God gave us have divine power! Think about that, don’t just pass it by. Divine power is to have heaven backing us up! Divine means of, from, or like God. It is when we use the name of Jesus and plead the blood of God with authority over our lives this heavenly power is released! It is our faith, even when so small, teaming up with heaven that moves mountains!
Now, our part is to speak life and the truths of God’s Word, for the word of God is our sword. It is one of the most powerful weapons we have. Pray the word over situations and speak it out for it is alive and active.
Fight! Say NO to the lies and attacks of your advisory! If you have a relationship with the Lord, you are his child. You start from a place of victory! What is life throwing at you? What are your obstacles? Start a notebook or journal with a list, then find something in the Word of God to battle it. Once you do, pray that scripture! Put a demand on the Word of God! Believe God is working. Wake up daily looking for answers to come. Daily make declarations of who you are! Rejoice and praise God because behind the scenes the wind is changing in your favor. In the process, you will grow, as your answers are shaping up to show themselves. Nothing is impossible with God!
In the next blog, I will share some declarations to speak over your life.
