Understanding the Lord our God can not say ‘no’ to a promise He has made is reassuring. The peace and confidence in God that comes from trusting in Him is where God desires us to live.
Do you realize that one of the most important ways to keep the word of truth from being stolen from our hearts is to gain understanding? Take a look at Matthew 13. Jesus shares a story about a farmer who throws seeds on different types of ground. As you read and come to the section of scripture where Jesus explains the story to his disciples, you will notice that it is understanding that protects us from having the enemy steal away the truth of the kingdom of God.
To know how our enemy works against us is key to a victorious life in the Kingdom. Jesus gave us what we need to overcome from the moment we received him as our Lord and Savior. Go back to 2 Peter 1; for you have been given everything you need for life and godliness in Christ and some tremendous promises to see you through. It is essential to study the Word of God for yourself. I have really enjoyed using a website called blueletterbible.com. You have access to the Strong’s Concordance and other resources where you can find the original text and original definitions to help you dive deeper into scripture.
Our enemy will not steal religious ideas or worldly thinking from you that hinders you. No! He steals the truth of God’s word whenever he can, so you will live in defeat, while you blame or complain to God that he is not working on your behalf.
The truth is every promise of God has power. (Luke 1:37) The Word of God is alive and active. (Hebrews 4:12) The Lord has told us to choose daily: life and blessings, or death and curses. (Deuteronomy 30:14-20) Our words choose that path for us. Learning to enforce what Jesus did for us with our words, establishes our victories and triumphs!
I want to leave you with this today. While reading the Bible, look for the words ‘will’ and ‘shall’ to start. These are powerful words defining absolutes. When God says he will do something, you can count on it. It is the same with the word ‘shall’. Think in legal terms, these two words, will and shall, carry power. Take God at his word and trust him to see it through.
Isaiah 55:11 tells us, “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Psalms 119:140 TPT – All your promises glow with fire; that’s why I’m a lover of your Word.
Psalm 12:5-6 TPT – But the Lord says, “Now I will arise! I will defend the poor, those who were plundered, the oppressed, and the needy who groan for help. I will spring into action to rescue and protect them!” 6For every word Yahweh speaks is sure and reliable. His truth is tested, found to be flawless, and ever faithful. It’s as pure as silver refined seven times in a crucible of clay.
The Word of God will not fail you when you cling to it and trust the Lord your God! Pay attention to these beautiful promises!
