What a price Christ paid! Everything needed to live a part of the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth provided. Our salvation includes not only eternity but healing, benefits, promises, healthy relationship, and authority. I have found many accept the basics of salvation without ever knowing how much more is available from the moment they believe Jesus is the Son of God and their savior.
Being a child of God entitles you to daily victory! 1 John 5: 4-5 from The Passion Translation reads, “You see, every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world. So who are the world conquerors defeating its power? Those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
When you believe in the Son of God as your savior, you wake up every day a champion! Remember who you are.
You are a citizen of heaven!
You have the Holy Spirit!
You have His authority to take the ground before you!
You are a victor.
Our faith in every promise God has given us is our victorious power to triumph! I have spent the past few months asking myself, ‘Do I believe what I say I believe. Can I see this behavior in my life?’
Many have been trained to believe that victory for believers is the day they make it to heaven. Yes, that will be a day to rejoice, however, what legacy are we handing to Jesus when we meet him. Our promises in the Word are for here and now. These promises and authority are for us to overcome our earthly lives, including everything that comes against us.
God gave the Garden of Eden (the earth) to Adam and Eve (human beings). It was theirs to care for, rule, reign, and manage. God came daily to enjoy their company, not to micromanage them.
When Jesus came, he restored garden living through the authority he gave us to use his name. Jesus gave us directives to walk and live as he showed us. Matthew 10:8 in The Passion Translation tells us, “You must continually bring healing to lepers and to those who are sick and make it your habit to break off the demonic presence from people, and raise the dead back to life. Freely you have received the power of the kingdom, so freely release it to others.”
Now to walk every day in victory is a journey, one for which God has provided grace. When you begin to go after all God has for you and others, your enemy will resist your efforts. The devil will fight with all he has to get your eyes off of the Word of God, Jesus, hope, every promise, and more. He will actively mash every button you have, so you will go backward, resorting to old ways of thinking and behaviors. I speak from experiences like so many of you can as well.
Remember, you are the victorious champion as a child of God with the authority of God in your mouth and hand. Our battle is not the people around us but the spirits around us. You must use the Word of God and speak it aloud.
We have to put the enemy in his place! Under our feet and the feet of Jesus, we do this with His name and His Word. We tell the enemy who our God is! What our God has done! What the Word of God says! We speak to our mountains (troubles), believing who God is who he says he is, and we tell our problems to leave, in Jesus’ name!
When you begin to do this and refuse to give up, you will see victories! You will begin to live every day as the child of God you are! Victorious! Strong! Fearless! Brave! Having a knowing, all of heaven is backing you up and cheering you on!
What are we as children of God doing with the victory God has given us? We awake daily to power, authority in Christ, and God-given victories. How are we ending our day?
Are we defeated?
Are we depressed?
Have we let circumstances rob us?
Have we allowed personal insecurities to drive us to low places of inadequacy?
Do we let the brokenness of the world penetrate our lives with no fight or resistance?
I encourage you to ponder these questions. Decide what you will do with every day you will be given for you are a champion!
