A few weeks ago, I spent some time pondering a group of verses.
I looked up the words,wrap-around presence, in the Passion Translation of the Bible. I don’t even remember what triggered this search. However, I am glad I did.
I read all the verses and then spent more time going back over each one. I would pause and let my imagination take me inside the verse. I visualized what these verses would look like where I am in life.
What confidence it built!
The following day in my quiet time, the Holy Spirit told me to write them in my journal. I have grown to love journaling throughout the years. It makes studying a group of scriptures so much easier, not to mention, I can jot down other life lessons or thoughts.
Here is the first verse.
For He alone is my safe place, His wrap-around presence always protects me, as my champion defender. There is no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me even when troubles multiply around me? God’s glory is all around me! His wrap-around presence is all I need for the Lord is my savior, my hero, my life-giving strength. Trust in God every moment. Join me, everyone. Tell him all your troubles and pour out your longings to him. Believe me, when I tell you- he will help you! Psalm 62:6-8 (TPT)
What powerful promises!
These promises are the truth! God is love! We need to discipline ourselves to think on Him so much more!
Take your time. Consider these promises, line by line, seeing the Lord as your champion! Believing He is fighting for you and your family. His presence constantly surrounding you!
Look at the other verses.
You’re my place of quiet retreat and your wrap-around presence becomes my shield as I wrap myself in your word. Psalm 119:114
How rich! His Word is alive and powerful! A shield protecting us from harm! Unending peace!
You are our King, the holiest one of all, your wrap-around presence is our protection. Psalm 89:18
God, your wrap-around presence is our defense. In your kindness, look upon the faces of your anointed ones. Psalm 84:9
Protection on earth as it is in heaven!
I encourage you to find your favorite spot. The place you feel comfortable and safe. As you read through these verses, pause often and ponder each line. Challenge yourself to do this several times over the next week! Something will change in you. It will be good!
